Cork Folk Festival 2016 – Céiliuradh Micheál O Riabhaigh

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the death of Micheál O Riabhaigh. Micheál revived the Cork Pipers Club in 1963 and taught many of the pipers in Cork now so it’s no exaggeration to suggest that he is responsible for many of the next generations learning also. Our annual concert in the Cork Folk Festival will commemorate his life and piping style with family members and past pupils playing and discussing his piping and teaching style. The concert is in the lovely venue of St Peters on North Main St on Sunday October 2nd.
