The Cork Pipers Club annual concert as part of the Cork Folk Festival takes place this Saturday at 4pm upstairs at An Spailpin Fanach. Entry on the door is just €10. The stalwarts of our concerts are back in force with a first for one or two appearing at our show.
Kieran Ryan, long time teacher with the club and regular at this event:
Rose O’Leary, who has played with us a number of times seen here with her daughter who also plays the pipes but is a cracking concertina player!
Des McCabe, member of the well travelled band Craobh Rua who have recently released a new album. Seen here with the full band:
Dan O’Callaghan, another regular who may just bring his warpipes along with him:
Last, but not least, we have Micheál O Riabhaigh who will be joined on stage by Oliver O’Connell on the box. Micheál played at the club’s centenary celebrations I’m reliably informed and comes from the well-known O’Riabhaigh piping family. Oliver is no stranger to the pipes with his son being the fantastic piper Blackie O’Connell.
Hope you can join us for an evening of music and chat.
