The annual piping tionol in Kilkenny is on this weekend, 2nd-4th November. Piping classes are on all day Saturday and half day on Sunday. Tutors are Nollaig McCarthy and Tommy Keane with sessions on Friday and Saturday nights. There are also beginners classes available. The venue is the Club House hotel. Registration for classes is at 10am in the bar on Saturday.
Nollaig is a great teacher having taught at events for the Cork Pipers’ Club before and Tommy Keane is also a fine piper so this event is well worth attending if you’re up that neck of the woods.
